Freddie Mac Says This Is the Year to Buy and Refinance Homes
Have you been thinking about buying a home, but you have continued to put it off for one reason or another? This could be the perfect year to buy your home, according to Freddie Mac. Mortgage rates have been lower since the Fed has cut interest rates, and the experts believe that there is a good possibility that the low rates will likely be around 3.7% to the end of 2020.

Why do the experts believe this? The rates have already been near record lows, and there is a serious fear of trade wars and the potential for a coming recession. This tends to push the rates lower. Also, there will be an election in 2020. In the past, the Fed does not historically raise the rates during election years. Dropping down to 3.7% and staying there seems like a safe prediction since the rates are already nearly that low.

As people see the recession on the horizon, they want to move their money out of more dangerous investments like stocks and put the money into real estate. This tends to be a safer option for them.

Of course, you have to realize that a prediction is not a guarantee. Freddie Mac and other experts take the information they have at hand and try to determine what is most likely to happen. While most believe that the rates are going to drop, it might also increase. If the economy is better than what has been predicted by the Fed, there will be no need for a decrease. If inflation were to go higher, the Fed might need to slow the economy, which would mean an increase in the rates. If the government were to borrow a substantial amount of money, bond investors might demand that the interest rates go up.

What should you do? Many believe that now and in the coming months will be the best time to buy a home and to refinance a home. Getting these low rates can help to make a big difference in the overall cost of your home, and you want to take advantage of that as soon as you can.

Although Freddie Mac and other experts believe that the low rates are going to last, you might want to start looking for a home right now. Find a great home with a low rate, and make sure that you can lock into it. Get in touch to learn more about great homes in the Miami area.
